Interview with Blue Snaggletooth

by | May 30, 2015 | Music

I recently met up with Ann Arbor’s powerhouse stoner rock band, Blue Snaggletooth outside their studio in Ann Arbor to chat about music, Fuzz Fest II, and breakfast foods.

Chatting with Blue Snaggletooth

In a joint (no pun intended) effort with National Rock Review, I set out to chat with the guys from Blue Snaggletooth. You may recall that I stumbled upon this great band at Fuzz Fest last year and I’ve been a big fan ever since.  They play what some folks call Stoner Rock, which I guess is because that form of music harkens back to the heydays of rock. You know when it was cool to play loud rock with a ton of groove through a big Marshall stack (or whatever your amp rig of choice may be). The funny thing is that great rock music never dies. Musicians like the guys in Blue Snaggletooth re-invigorate the rock and roll soup with their own blend of special ingredients.

I headed across town and met up with Mike Popovich (drums), Joe Kupiec (bass), Casey O’Ryan (guitar), and Chris Taylor (guitar/vocals) to get their thoughts on how the latest album, Beyond Thule is doing. As well as chat about their influences, the process of writing music, and to learn a bit about the upcoming Fuzz Fest II. This year’s Fuzz Fest will be held at the legendary Blind Pig in Ann Arbor on June 11th, 12th, and 13th.

Check out the interview and hear all about it:
