Our road trip through the Cairngorms National Park opens in St. Andrews and ends with a selfie in front of the Royal Family’s Scottish home. Sandwiched in the middle we explored Dunnottar and Balvenie Castles and the Elgin Cathedral.

Quincy Mine Tour in Hancock Michigan
Just north of Hancock, Michigan in the heart of the Keweenaw Peninsula is the Quincy Mine. It’s been closed over 70 years, but tours are available. During our 2017 Michigan Tour, Chuck convinced me it was time to slay my fears and journey nearly one mile into the side of a hill and explore a bit of history.

The 2018 Winter Beer Festival was the same wonderful festival, just postponed for a week. There were new faces in the crowd and just a few less breweries because of the date change.

The Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce’s Curling Fest 2018 (February 16-18, 2018) featured a tournament for both experienced and novice competitors on Saturday and Sunday and learn to curl sessions on Friday.
2017 UP Winter Vacation
Eating large cinnamon buns, snowshoeing in Narnia and drinking beer in an honest to goodness saloon are just a few highlights from our 2017 UP Winter Vacation. Plus we drove 1,300 miles, experienced a white-out on M-41 outside of Marquette and explored an ice cave.
