Canyon Falls Michigan’s Grand Canyon
The Canyon Falls trail along the Sturgeon River in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula has been dubbed “Michigan’s Grand Canyon.” It is 15 miles south of L’Anse, Michigan on US 41. There is plenty of parking at the roadside park. Blue slashes along the trail mark the North Country Trail.
A Tour of Colonial Michilimackinac
Colonial Michilimackinac is the last exit before Mackinaw Bridge and is packed with history and photo opportunities. It was the first stop on our 2017 Michigan Tour of Places we’ve always said we wanted to checkout or did and can’t remember. I think you could safely call it the 2017 Michigan Middle Age Tour
Detroit Book Festival 2017
The 1st Annual Detroit Book Festival was held on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Eastern Market. It had a bit of something for everyone: old books, new books, rare books, comic books, children’s books, vinyl records, posters, newspapers, magazines, vintage board games, food trucks, beer, and a DJ. Mixed in between were authors.

Dark Alley Cycle Shop Open House
On May 13, The Dark Alley Cycle Shop in Marshall, Michigan threw an open house to show off the revamped shop with great beer, food, and music. We stopped by and interviewed Cabe and Lance. They shared a bit more about their vision for the shop, what sets them apart from other cycle shops, and if they anticipate partnering with a dealership. (That got them a bit sidetracked!)
