Leapin’ Leprechauns! Now that was St. Patty’s Day celebration in the Rumpus Room with E-Bird and the Lucky Few. Erin Zindle of the Ragbirds brought her fiddle and the Rumpus Room provided the St. Patrick’s Day cocktails.

The Rumpus room was packed on St. Patty’s Day. Toes were tapping. Erin Zindle was fiddling. The E-Bird and Lucky Few were providing plenty of entertainment.

If you looked close at the stage it was clear that the band were really members of the Ragbirds. Erin Zindle with fiddle in hand and her sweet melodic voice was at center stage. To her right was her brother TJ Zindle on guitar. To her left on drums was Jay Bee. Just behind her on bass was Dan Jones. Finally, just behind TJ was Randall Moore playing percussion.

Together they played a couple of sets of Celtic tunes, including such classics as “Whiskey In The Jar” and “Danny Boy”. This was a fun band for celebrating a bit of Celtic pride.

Copious Amounts of Alcohol

When I was writing this post, I did a bit of research and according to Wikipedia, “St Patrick’s Day, while not a legal holiday in the United States, is nonetheless widely recognized and observed throughout the country as a celebration of Irish and Irish-American culture. Celebrations include prominent displays of the color green, religious observances, numerous parades, and copious consumption of alcohol”  So therefore it must be perfectly ok.

I don’t remember all the toasts (see previous paragraph), but I do remember this traditional Irish toast. “May the best day of your past, be worst of your future.”

Everyone enjoyed the traditional Irish dance performance. It triggered a conversation where Tracie and I tried to remember the name of the famous Irish theater performance. Tracie, I figured it out; “Riverdance.”
